Who is TD&P

I got into photography back in high school but then had a long hiatus while serving in the Marine Corps and getting caught up in this thing called life.

After my son was born, I started getting back into photography. I had a Sony DSC-175 and bought a bunch of filters and adapters for it to get better shots. I was in college at the time and was taking a photography class when I first learned about digital SLRs. That sparked a whole new love for capturing moments. A lot of my assignments featured my son and it grew from there. I started looking at the work of Tim Kelly and other portrait photographers.

I then started looking at the work of Scott Robert Lim and Yervant. I started attending seminars. I soaked in (and still continue to soak in) information. I have attended Ed Pierce, Sallee Photography, and Scott Robert Lim seminars and they were worth every penny. Not only is this a great industry, the people you meet along the way are great.

I had the fortunate opportunity of shooting a wedding with Scott Robert Lim. The bride was a dancer for Britney Spears and the groom was a dancer for Gwen Stefani. The wedding was off the hook and is just an example of what’s possible when you get out there and don’t hold back.

I have been studying more of Joe McNally’s work lately and putting the knowledge to work on location sessions. This is a never ending learning process which is another reason I love photography. The other aspect is meeting new people. I am a people person and I enjoy hearing your stories about how you met, who you are, and whatever else we talk about during sessions.

I hope you enjoy not only the images, but the write-ups as well. Both give you an insight into who I am and how I photograph. I look forward to the opportunity of meeting you and becoming your photographer.
